Sewing for Haiti Orphans

Let’s sew again for Haiti orphans. We are inviting all who wish to help make little shorts and little jumpers for Haiti orphans to come to Mother Cabrini Parish Center in Richland on Monday and Tuesday, July 15 and 16 to help sew. This year we will make shorts on Monday and jumpers on Tuesday. Volunteers may help either or both days. Items to bring include: fabric, thread, sewing tools such as scissors, pins sewing machines. For those who want to help, but cannot come either day, donations of fabric would be appreciated. Also donations of small plain t-shirts for the shorts we make would also be appreciated.

We will meet from 9 am to about 2 pm each day. Lunch will be provided for volunteers. Over the last two years we’ve donated more than 300 garments that were sewn by our parish members. These were delivered directly to the orphanages in Haiti each fall and winter. We have been notified that our donations are needed for at least three more years.
