This typhoon, the equivalent of a category 5 hurricane with winds of 195 miles per hour, slammed into the island of Samar on Nov. 7 and Vietnam on Nov. 9, killing an estimated 10,000 people, with 9.5 million people being affected.
Catholic Relief Services is providing 100,000 families with shelter, essential living supplies, and clean water and sanitation. They are desperately in need of some help. The Bishop is asking for a collection to benefit the Phillippine people affected by this disaster. Our Sunday Breakfast collection on Dec. 8th will go to this disaster. If you would like to donate otherwise please put in envelope with “Typhoon Relief” written on it. May God answer our prayers and bring relief quickly to all those suffering.
